50. Zombie, Ohio – Scott Kenemore
Reanimating in the Midwest. This book was very funny. Giving the zombie’s perspective on things certainly allowed for some levity in the zombie apocalypse (finally!) and the zombie’s former life as a womanizing college professor prevented those “oh wait, my Dad taught me how to shoot way back in first grade and I’m basically an army sniper in the body of a sorority girl” sort of moments. Nice. There was a lot of wandering and ruminating though, but that’s to be expected in a story about a self-aware zombie. Also, nice shout out to an Iowa baseball team – it provided both wordplay and amusement.
